Reengineering Hammer Mill
30% capacity gain with minimal investment
Overall, the capacity of the machine was too low. The problem turned out to be the hammers. Sizing the hammers up would make it possible to grind more of the desired product. The sieves that were used had a stiffening mesh. By replacing them with reinforcing ribs, more openings were created. Hence, the product needed less time to get through the sieve.
The capacity went up with 30%. In addition, a possibility to grind the product more fine (0,5mm) was created.
