Oxygen Detection System
System including evacuation and maintenance plan
Nitrogen is dangerous as it expels oxygen. This mean one doesn’t notice when s/he suffocates from nitrogen. Hence, a oxygen detection system was installed. When the oxygen level is too low, the main valve of the nitrogen tank will be closed. In addition, an evacuation plan was created that describes what to do when the alarm goes off.The problem was the release of dust when weighing raw materials for various processes. Certain substances can be flammable. To solve this problem, an ATEX exhaust system was designed and placed. The extractor system has a filter which stops all fine dust particles, so that it does pollute the outside air. In addition, a silencer between the filter and the fan prevents noise disturbance. Finally, the extraction arms are adjustable at any prefered working height.
When the level of oxygen is indeed too low, the alarm will go off. The machine will turn off and the nitrogen valves will automatically close.
